As Chair of the 2011 National Advertising Awards I had the great pleasure of reviewing all of this year’s entries with an impressive jury comprised of the most talented and respected people in the industry. The following pages represent the most inspiring of the many pieces that were submitted to the competition.
To the winners: Congratulations, you did it. You stood out from the many entrants in your category. To the lucky few heading to Cannes, you can enjoy your moderately priced cocktail at the Martinez secure in the knowledge that you bested the best.
The National Advertising Awards is one of the truly great Canadian shows and is owed much respect. Rather than awarding trophies to the agency or team, the NAA sends the most deserving creatives in Canada to meet and learn from those that do the best work in the world.
Thanks to Cam and his team for this wonderful opportunity and the amazing panel of judges for donating their much valued time and opinions.
Out of home
There were two similar submissions in this category that sparked much debate but it came down to this simple, easy to execute idea that highlights how easy it is to have the Smirnoff in bar experience at home. These animated neon bar sign projections would be very effective at night however not sure I would want one pointing at my apartment window when the bars close.
